INSIDE - THE OTHER LEDGE

Here is the other ledge in the great room.  What about that little tree.... lol.  It worked in our other house but not here.  Next year will be a 10 or 12 foot tree in its place.

A FEW PICTURES OF THE INSIDE

We have been going through totes for I don't know.....forever and have tables set up downstairs so I can see what I'm keeping and what I'm getting rid of.  I have a few pictures of the inside but you will have to look passed the stuff left out on the countertops.

MOVING SOME DIRT

We wanted to put in a pool this year but AEP held everything and everyone up so and we had someone lined up to move some dirt for us but he couldn't do it so we found someone here to build up the ground behind the house so that next year we could have our pool put in and a good size patio.  We will be putting in a deck up stairs off the kitchen, just a small one.

GETTING CAUGHT UP

We have been very busy like most so I'm going to get everyone caught up.

Flooring was completed and we only had a few things that needed to be done before we moved in.  We passed our water test and are so lucky on the well water.  We have no filters and the water taste better than bottled water.  It was something that I worried about when we decided on a well.

We got our keys on August 20th and we moved only mattress's in and brought only the few things we needed.  The kids 1st day of school was the 21st so we started the new school year from our new house.

We had Two Men in a Truck move our heavier and bigger items for us and we moved the boxes and little things.  The move went great.........with the help of my MOM and DAD.  They are the greatest and really appreciated all their help.

I only started unpacking boxes and decorating in the last two weeks.  We had kids in sports and always running.  Now that sports are done for awhile we can get some things done.

Pictures of the inside and my decorating skills..... hahahaha..... coming soon.

AUGUST 14TH - FLOORING STARTED

We now have flooring going down!!!!!  I wasn't sure how I would like this type of flooring but my budget really didn't allow us to go hardwood.  We felt that if we wanted hardwood later down the road that this would work for now.  I'm happy with the look of it and how it did turn out the only thing with darker floors is that you see everything, but that's what you have dust mops and kids for even though the kids haven't found the dust mops yet.

AUGUST 9TH - NOPE NOTHING TODAY

We stopped out to see the flooring crew laying the flooring and well.......... NOTHING!  NOT ONE PERSON OUT THERE PUTTING FLOORING DOWN.  ITS FRIDAY WHAT WAS I THINKING!
We sometimes can see the light at the end of the tunnel and then sometimes the light seems to be on a dimmer.
Apparently the flooring crew didn't pick up the job and now they are scrambling to start tomorrow....Saturday.  They tell me that they will do all they can to get the job done by Tuesday.  Not sure I'm going to hold my breath on that one.

AUGUST 8TH - FLOORING.......NO

Went out today to check out flooring and guess what "NO FLOORING".  Apparently the flooring crew got held up on a job so they said they would be out tomorrow.....Friday?  I haven't seen anyone in a long time out there working on a Friday or a Monday in fact for a very long long time.  So we will see.

AUGUST 7TH - CLOSET SHELVES

Today the closet shelving was installed in all the rooms and the one bedroom closet door was installed to swing into the room. The bathroom mirrors are up.

We went through the house and marked all the little things in the drywall that needed touched up.  Flooring should start tomorrow.  I'm getting excited :).

The septic had to be put on hold because they had an emergency but should be completed on Saturday and inspected on Monday.

Was told that flooring would start tomorrow and will finish up on Friday.

AUGUST 6TH - LIGHTS AND OUTLETS

The electrician was out putting in the outlets and the outside lights. It's was so exciting to walk in and turn on some lights. We are getting close. He should finish up tomorrow with everything.

AUGUST 1ST - KITCHEN ISLAND

The carpenter was out today and put in the kitchen island and trimmed out the basement windows.  They cut the trim for the baseboard but did not tack it in.  That might be because the floor has to be put in before they run this little trim piece.  Makes sense.

JULY 29TH - SEPTIC STARTED

We went out to check on things and they started on the septic today and should finish up Thursday.

Our field manager ran over the schedule and it looks promising.  The carpenter should be here this week and the island is to be installed.  Electrician should be in to finish next week and the flooring should start going down next week or the week after.  Things should start moving at a better pace now that we have electricity.

My hope was to be in before school started August 23rd but doesn't look like it.  So my hopes are that we are in before the end of August.

JULY 26TH - WE HAVE ELECTRIC !!!!!!!!!!!

OH MY GOD WE HAVE ELECTRIC!!!!!

Drove by and we seen 2 big trucks and a pickup parked so we kept our fingers crossed, you don't know what other reason they might give you.  But we came back and they where done.

We started the AC unit to start the drying out process and get the humidity levels down.

Thought the septic guys would be out Thursday no, thought Friday no.  Well hope his out there this week.

Boy, it seems that's all I do is HOPE this and HOPE that.  I would like to say this is happening and this is getting done but...........no just HOPES!

JULY 25TH - STILL NO ELECTRIC

We ran out to check on everything to find that no one from AEP was there.  All they had to do is put the transformer up and run the wire to the house.  I know to me it seems easy and simple and shouldn't take that long but come on your almost there.  So again I called left messages...."Well its Thursday and I still have no electric"  I tried to use my nice, patient voice but it was hard.  They told me they had an accident and had to send their crew to another location.  Looks like it to me that they need to hire a few more people.

Again, nothing going on at the house.

JULY 23RD - 24TH

Well AEP was out to install the poles on Tuesday and on Wednesday they ran the wire.......we are getting closer, but still NO electric.

JULY 22ND - SAD DAY

Well, we stopped by to find that we had been broken into. That really sucks!!  They even took my jugs of water that I had to clean the steel beam and they took bottles of water that Wayne left after the open house......really?  They even broke a basement window but didn't come in that way and after they took what they wanted they even locked the sliding glass door downstairs before they left.....strange.
I hope they catch the people that did this, but I'm not holding my breath that we will get our stuff back.

JULY 15TH - AC UNIT INSTALLED

Glad to see something happening at the house.  Its the beginning of the 4th week that nothing really hasn't been done around the house.  Just a few things here and there but nothing big and nothing that's really going to get us in the house in the next few weeks.  And we where moving along so well not the case now.

JULY 15TH - NEW FIELD MANAGER

I got a call and was told that our field manager is no longer with the company and we have been assigned another manager.  Great, I'm a little disappointed but what are you going to do.

NO ELECTRIC = AEP SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE, LETS MAKE THE CUSTOMER HAPPY........WELL NOT WITH AEP.  THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY AND THEY DONT CARE IF THEY HAVE PUT EVERYONE INVOLVED IN BUILDING YOUR DREAM HOME ON HOLD.

JULY 11TH - WELL DRILLING

The well was done today.  They didn't have to go as far as they thought and they said we will have more water then we will ever need and his guess we should get 25 gallons per minute, which is good.  Also, they told us that the water seems to be good water with no odor but will be tested later.

ALSO, NO ELECTRIC EITHER :( .  WAS TOLD THIS WEEK AND AGAIN ANOTHER LIE. BOY THEY SURE NEEDED OUR MONEY BEFORE THEY COULD DO ANYTHING AND WELL 10 WEEKS LATER NO ELECTRIC.  AEP........SUCKS!

JULY 2ND FINISHED PLUMBING

Well there hasn't been a lot going on at the house. They did finish the plumbing, put in sinks, faucets but that's all. Still NO electric. So looks like we are at a stand still. It's so aggravating that one thing can shout down the whole process. Hope to have better news next week.

JUNE 24 TO JUNE 28TH

Nothing being done this week.  No electric either. They did come in and do a rough grade around the house.  They had a open house on Sunday and it seemed to go very well.  I stopped by at one point and 6 cars of people where in looking at the house.  I hope people liked my changes.

JUNE 21ST - STAINED INTERIOR DOORS

They came in and stained all the doors and they really look nice.
Still NO electric :(   They will not install any floor coverings until we have electric to run the AC to get rid of the humidity in the house.

JUNE 20TH - FINISHED STONE ON FRONT

Its so hard to imagine how the stone was going to look like when you only have a 20"x 20" board to look at and make a decision.  I think it looks pretty good.

JUNE 18TH - STARTED ON TRIM AND CABINETS

They started on the trim and cabinets today.  They had a crew and was moving right along.  We got out of their way but made sure we stopped back out that evening.  Wow, all the doors were hung (they stain the doors after they are hung) and trim was in place.  The kitchen and bath cabinets were installed and the counter tops in place.  It is nice to see it with some character now and not the blank walls. They did a great job matching the trim with the cabinets.
